Change A Password
On the documented qualified TrueNAS 25.10.7 candidate, close all account protocols and end login/block sessions before requesting password rotation. The module coordinates owned Unix and retained Linux CHAP state. After success, verify the new credentials work and the old ones are rejected.
Imported accounts, other NAS releases and retained CORE CHAP rotation need separate qualification. Do not edit credentials directly on the NAS during an in-progress recovery operation.
Upgrade Safely
- Stage the exact new package and compare it with the approved manifest.
- Back up application/database state and record ownership/permissions.
- Preserve installation ID, licence state and operation journals.
- Do not overwrite the separate internal
herzatruenasmodule or import its database state as an implicit migration. - Validate one disposable service before returning the installation to normal use.
Rollback Boundaries
Reverting application files cannot undo a NAS action that has already completed. Account for completed storage changes and preserve newer journals before restoring compatible application/database state. Stop if another operator changed the state during the maintenance window.
Suspend And Terminate
Suspend and unsuspend follow the storage service lifecycle policy. Terminate permanently removes verified module-owned resources. It is not a troubleshooting step for passwords or licensing. Test termination only on explicitly disposable data.
Licence Expiry
Licence expiry restricts module controls and may hide access details; it does not itself delete NAS data or close existing storage access. A storage-service suspension is a separate action. Resolve licensing through renewal, reissue or support.
