RouteGlass Looking Glass

Web-based network diagnostics for network operators and their customers.

What Is RouteGlass?

RouteGlass v1.4.3 is an open-source looking glass platform. It provides Ping, MTR, Traceroute, visitor public IP visibility and optional test-file downloads. Optional BGP lookup can use MikroTik RouterOS v7, Juniper Junos or VyOS/FRRouting.

Deployment Model

The installer targets Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and uses Nginx as the public reverse proxy. The application listens on 127.0.0.1:8080 and runs as a non-root service. Public traffic should reach Nginx rather than the Go backend directly.

Choose One BGP Backend

Select exactly one BGP backend per instance. MikroTik uses API-SSL with CA validation; Juniper and VyOS use SSH keys and host-key verification. Disabling BGP does not disable Ping, MTR or Traceroute.

Get Started

Follow Installation, then the guide for MikroTik, Juniper or VyOS if needed. Source and licence notices are available in the RouteGlass repository.
