Protocols & IP Access

Control access to a storage account without changing unrelated NAS services.

Choose A Protocol

The preview includes SFTP/SSH, FTP, NFS, CIFS/SMB and iSCSI controls, subject to the qualified NAS release, global service readiness and product policy. Enable only the protocols your workflow needs. SFTP file access does not imply permission to use an interactive shell.

Add The Correct Source IP

  1. Open the storage service’s IP Access List.
  2. Add the source address that the NAS actually sees, taking NAT into account.
  3. Confirm the refreshed state and enable the intended protocol.
  4. Test a connection from the allowed system.
  5. Use the Remove control beside an individual IP when removing an entry.

Understand The Scope

Before You Continue

The documented candidate keeps one list per storage service/account and applies it across that account’s protocols. It is not a client-wide list shared automatically across all services or nodes.

Removing the final allowed address can close account protocols or disconnect sessions. Record the original list before testing changes.

Use Access Details

In the Client Area, open the owned service from My Services and use its storage tabs. Access Details reflects the assigned node and protocol: hostname/IP, port, username, share/dataset or iSCSI details. Treat displayed passwords and CHAP values as secrets.

Unavailable Controls

Check the IP list, global daemon/listener state, product policy and compatibility. A disabled control or “Not used” state does not alone indicate failed provisioning. Resolve the reported prerequisite instead of opening unrelated NAS access.
